Services to Youth

The Links, Incorporated created its first program facet, Services to Youth, to empower and enrich young black youth. The purpose of Services to Youth is to encourage young people to use their intellect and spirit in order to transform into healthy citizens in the global workforce and to promote healthy lifestyles within families and communities. The primary goals of the facet are to:
- Close the achievement gap from pre-K through college, with the intent of preparing our youth for the global workforce as healthy citizens
- Develop training modules for local pre-K through college mentoring programs, to ascertain a high level of support for youth in our communities
- Expand and support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education
- Promote and support historically black colleges and universities for ensure sustainability
Signature Program: BUDDing for Success Mentoring Program
The West Georgia (GA) Chapter initiated the BUDDing for Success Mentoring program to address the academic and developmental needs of students within our service area. Our program targets young boys and girls in middle school in grades 6-8. BUDDing for Success integrates the five facets to help build relationships, confidence, and multi-cultural exposure with age-appropriate activities and discussions.
