West Georgia (GA) Chapter Of The Links, Incorporated

Greetings Friends and Partners,

It is my honor to serve as the chartering president of the West Georgia (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The Links, Incorporated was founded on November 9, 1946 by two young Philadelphia visionaries, Margaret Rosell Hawkins and Sarah Strickland. Their mission was to engage in educational, civic and inter-cultural activities in the communities in which they served. For the past 75 years, The Links, Incorporated, with a membership of more than 16,000, “influential decision makers, opinion leaders and distinguished achievers”, has made its mark in the United States and abroad through impactful service. Our strategic service platform is divided into five program facets: Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services.In the West Georgia community, we have hit the ground running partnering with Douglas and Carroll County Schools to offer mentoring and program activities to middle school students through our signature program- BUDDing for Success. We have also designed additional programs to address the needs of our community focusing on financial literacy, homebuying success, mental health awareness, the Arts, and global support of reading through our Reading Across the Miles initiative. Our connection to our community is deep, with members working as a federal state, and county government officials, educators, medical professionals, entrepreneurs and long-standing community leaders. I am excited about the longstanding impact that we will have on our service area and invite you to support our programming as it fits your needs.
